TEXARKANA, Texas - A man who was arrested when he arrived at a dollar store in Nash, Texas, where he thought he was meeting a 15-year-old girl for sex, is facing a couple of criminal charges in Bowie County.

Julio Aguilar, 42, allegedly exchanged text messages in which he agreed to pay a teenage girl for sex June 4, according to a probable cause affidavit. Aguilar allegedly sent her a photo of himself online and said he would be driving a gray Chevrolet Camaro.

Members of the Texas Department of Public Safety's Criminal Investigation unit set up surveillance of the Dollar General parking lot where the meeting was to occur. Aguilar arrived at the agreed-upon time in a gray 2012 Camaro.

A DPS Special Agent who searched the car allegedly found 2 grams of methamphetamine and 3 grams of marijuana inside.

Aguilar has been charged with online solicitation of a minor and with possession of a controlled substance. Court records show an immigration hold has been placed on Aguilar.

The hold means he cannot effect his release by posting bond on bails that total $63,000.

Aguilar is being held in the Bowie County jail. If convicted of online solicitation of a minor, Aguilar faces two to 20 years in prison. If found guilty of methamphetamine possession, he faces two to 10 years.

The marijuana possession charge facing Aguilar is a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in the county jail.
