Bealls of Texarkana, Texas, in Central Mall is now in the process of closing for good.
Originally, Stage Stores, the company that holds the Bealls-Texas label, had planned on converting that store into a Gordmans, another label in their marketing mix.
But upon further reflection, they've decided to close the outlet entirely.
"We conducted another review of the location, which we regularly do with all stores in our store fleet," said a company spokesperson. "Due to competitive pressures and position to provide options to our guest, as a result of the latest review, we have decided to close the Bealls store in Texarkana, Texas, rather than converting it to a Gordmans store."
The decision was made for both business considerations as well as the current situation with the COVID-19 virus, according to the spokesperson.
No exact closing date was given.
