A new, Arkansas-side subdivision that will feature about 20 homes is under development just off Arkansas Boulevard.
"Our firm is constructing them and will be also selling them" said Mark Wurtele, a TDC General Contractors official.
The subdivision is located at 2201 Arkansas Blvd.
"The project got started around February of this year, but progress has been considerably delayed by weather," he said.
The homes, which will be priced in approximately the $16o,000 to $200,000 range, are estimated to be completed around August of this year.
"We've gotten city approvals in, engineering done and readying installation of water and sewer systems," said Donnie Sealy, Wurtele's partner.
"I bought that land in '03-'04, and spent some time going back and forth with the city. It took a lot of time but eventually, things came together," he said. "The time is now to build the subdivision. We live and thrive in Arkansas and we want to help Texarkana, Arkansas."
