Coronavirus cases continue rise in Titus, Sevier counties

Titus County, Texas, and Sevier County, Arkansas, continue to see the region's steepest recent increases of confirmed coronavirus cases.

Titus County's case count rose by more than 20 from Thursday to Friday, moving from 443 to 464, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. Sevier County's count rose by more than 30, from 131 to 162, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Bowie County added two cases to reach 134, and Cass County added one to reach 29, according to the local emergency Joint Operations Center.

Morris County held at 27 cases, and Red River County at 50, according to TDSHS.

In Southwest Arkansas, Howard County's count rose from 18 to 19, and Hempstead County's from 14 to 15, according to the Arkansas Department of Health. Miller County held at 42 cases, Lafayette County at nine, Pike and Nevada counties at five, and Little River County at six.

Because of technical issues, the Louisiana Department of Health did not update its
case counts Friday.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 6,777 total cases so far, with 132 deaths, and Texas reported 61,006 cases with 1,626 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 1,719,827 total cases so far, with a national death toll of 101,711.
