Multiple new COVID-19 deaths in Cass County

The number of deaths because of COVID-19 in Cass County, Texas, rose by five Monday to Thursday, reaching a total of 32, according to the local emergency Joint Operations Center.

Cass County's active cases moved from 68 to 77 in that time, with cumulative confirmed cases increasing by 27, from 628 to 655. There have been 546 recoveries in the county.

Active cases in Bowie County, Texas, decreased from 606 to 557 as total cases went up by 75, from 2,268 to 2,343 and deaths held at 87, according to the JOC. There have been 1,699 recoveries in the county.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Red River County's case count rose from 209 to 212, Morris County's from 246 to 248 and Titus County's from 1,648 to 1,663, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Active COVID-19 cases in Miller County, Arkansas, decreased by 32 Monday to Thursday, falling from 151 to 119, according to the Arkansas Department of Health.

Total cases rose by 24, from 1,430 to 1,454, in Miller County, and deaths held at 16. There have been 1,319 recoveries in the county.

In Southwest Arkansas, Lafayette County's cumulative number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose from 185 to 190, Pike County's from 275 to 286, Nevada County's from 335 to 341, Little River County's from 457 to 464, Hempstead County's from 583 to 601, Howard County's from 598 to 601 and Sevier County's from 1,311 to 1,318, according to ADH.

In Northwest Louisiana, Caddo Parish's case count increased from 10,881 to 11,136 Monday to Thursday and Bossier Parish's from 4,660 to 4,817, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas on Thursday reported 115,228 cumulative cases and 2,144 deaths, Louisiana reported 191,889 cases and 5,863 deaths, and Texas reported 993,841 cases and 19,147 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday reported 10,314,254 cases in the U.S. so far, with a national death toll of 241,069, an increase of 4,032 since Thursday.
