Police seek two people in connection with fatal shooting

ASHDOWN, Ark. - Police are looking for two persons of interest in the fatal shooting of an Ashdown man Tuesday.

At 8:39 p.m. Tuesday, the Little River County Sheriff's Office received a phone call that gunshots were heard somewhere near the hospital, according to an account from the Ashdown Police Department. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate anything. At 8:47 p.m an Ashdown resident called and reported there was a man laying in his yard.

Officers arrived and located a 48-year-old male victim face down in the driveway suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers administered first aid until an ambulance arrived and transported the victim to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Officers located the crime scene a short distance from where the victim was found, APD officials said.

The victim's name had not been released as of Wednesday.

The investigation is under way and two persons of interest are being sought by authorities.
