TEXARKANA, Texas - A man accused of stealing a four-wheeler from a 9-year-old and shooting at a man several days later entered pleas of not guilty to multiple felonies Tuesday at a hearing in Bowie County.

Jaquavion Demon Williams, 18, was taken into Bowie County custody July 10 on charges of robbery and deadly conduct. The robbery charge stems from the alleged theft of a four-wheeler from a 9-year-old girl April 25, while the deadly-conduct charges stem from an alleged shooting April 29, according to probable-cause affidavits.

Williams appeared Tuesday via video before 102nd District Judge Jeff Addison with Texarkana lawyer Derric McFarland for arraignment on those charges and for pretrial hearings on charges of burglary of a habitation and engaging in organized criminal activity that have been pending since last year and to which Williams previously entered pleas of not guilty.

McFarland entered pleas of not guilty on Williams' behalf and asked for all four cases to be scheduled for a future pretrial hearing. Addison set the case to appear on an October docket.

Williams is currently being held in the Bowie County jail. He was arrested July 10 on the newest charges and indicted by a Bowie County grand jury in early August.

Williams and a codefendant, Daquavious Keyshawn "Tator Bug" Akkard, 19, are both charged in the case involving the four-wheeler. The two men were allegedly traveling in a white Chevrolet Tahoe when they came across the girl stopped on West 24th Street in Texarkana, Texas.

The men allegedly blocked the girl's path with the Tahoe while the driver, allegedly Williams, got out of the Tahoe and walked toward the girl. The other man, allegedly Akkard, slid into the driver's seat of the Tahoe and drove away. Williams allegedly knocked the girl from her seat on the four-wheeler and climbed on. The girl climbed back on the back of the four-wheeler but Williams allegedly hit her hands until she fell off, skinning her knees.

Using home video surveillance from a nearby residence, investigators were able to identify Williams and Akkard as suspects in that case.

Texarkana, Texas, police again were looking for a white Tahoe after receiving a report of a shooting April 29 on State Line Avenue. A man reported that he was driving a friend's Honda along State Line Avenue near the Triple J convenience store and the intersection with West 14th Street when Williams pulled up next to him and fired three shots from a "short chrome revolver."

The Honda's driver told police he knew Williams because he had dated Williams' mother for several years and the relationship had recently ended. The driver said he made a U-turn on State Line Avenue in an attempt to get away from Williams but Williams followed, firing additional rounds.

A witness told police she heard gunshots in the area near 14th Street while driving on State Line Avenue and observed a man behind her shooting at a silver Honda as it made a U-turn.

Williams was arrested on the warrants for burglary and engaging in organized criminal activity in June 2019 and had been free on $35,000 in personal recognizance bonds until his arrest in July.
