TEXARKANA, Ark. - For $75, car part hunters on Saturday can haul off all the parts they can carry by themselves for the requisite 20 feet at a local salvage business.

"All you can carry, $75 dollars gets you one trip," said Jaclyn Szydelko, the manager of Pickers Self Service Auto Parts. "This is what you can carry with no physical assistance, no help from anyone else, no dragging, no pushing, no pulling. You have to lift and carry, though you can strap it on your person and carry it for the required 20 feet."

Each 20-foot trip costs $75 and if you're strong enough it can even include some big ticket items.

"Take home an engine on Saturday, it costs you the $75," she said. "On any other day, with us, an engine runs $354. And they are considerably more expensive elsewhere."

Past events have been festive, typically drawing about 300 people.

"They'll be lining up along the highway as well as in our parking lot when we get there to open up on Saturday," Szydelko said. "It is very lovely in its atmosphere, with some just coming to watch the show."

There will be a food vendor at the event serving hot dogs and hamburgers made on-site.

(Pickers Self Service Auto Parts is located at 5512 E. 9th St.. They are open from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
