COVID-19 cases inch up for Bowie, Miller counties

The confirmed number of cumulative coronavirus cases in Miller County, Arkansas, increased from 674 to 705 Thursday to Tuesday, and Bowie County, Texas' case count rose from 1,059 to 1,118.

Miller County reported 658 recoveries, 10 deaths and 56 active cases on Tuesday, according to the Arkansas Department of Health. Bowie County reported 652 recoveries, 71 deaths and 395 active cases, according to the county's Emergency Operations Center.

The EOC also reported 291 total cases in Cass County, Texas, up from 271 Thursday, with 251 recoveries, 14 deaths and 26 active cases.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Red River County's tally rose from 152 to 157, Morris County's from 164 to 174 and Titus County's from 1,392 to 1,415, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

In Southwest Arkansas, Lafayette County's case count increased from 78 to 80, Pike County's from 204 to 213, Nevada County's from 171 to 184, Little River County's from 313 to 321, Hempstead County's from 337 to 340, Howard County's from 439 to 447 and Sevier County's from 1,175 to 1,183, according to ADH.

Caddo Parish in Northwest Louisiana added 167 cases to reach 7,929, and Bossier Parish added 91 to reach 2,952, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 70,125 cumulative cases and 1,010 deaths, Louisiana reported 158,318 cases and 5,108 deaths, and Texas reported 668,746 cases and 14,343 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported 6,537,627 total cases so far in the U.S., with a national death toll of 194,092.
