Two men arrested after chase

HOOKS, Texas - Two men have been arrested after a vehicle pursuit involving a stolen car Tuesday.

The car was reported stolen Monday night, Hooks Police Sgt. Les Hunter said. Police had just taken the report and were en route to the station when they received a call that the car had been spotted at a Valero station, Hunter said.

A Bowie County deputy joined Hooks police to approach one of the men, Hunter said. The suspect fled and eventually became stuck in the median of the road. He was arrested by deputies a short time later, Hunter said.

A New Boston police car caught on fire at the scene of the accident, but officials are not sure how the fire started, Hunter said. No one was injured.

Wesley Hogeland and Cheyenne Hodge were arrested on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest, according to the Hooks Police Department.
