ASHDOWN, Ark. - Ashdown High School teachers Amy Silva and Shauna Tipton recently served as subject matter experts for the Division of Career and Technical Education to create learning templates that will be shared statewide in Arkansas.

They developed CTE playbook templates, which are published on the Back to School Playbook page on the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education website.

They met weekly from July 9 through Aug. 7 to collaborate and create the playbook in a manner that would provide course alignment for their programs of study.

These templates provide instructional tools for CTE courses and will be shared throughout the state to serve as a model for work in CTE learning communities nationwide.

Silva served as a subject matter expert for the Pharmacy Technology Fundamentals course within the Medical Professions program.

Tipton was part of the Business Instructor Team.

"I am always humbled and honored to be asked to assist in the development of state curriculum," Tipton said. "Our ADE Business and Marketing Program coordinator and adviser are always hard at work for us, so I always feel that I should contribute to the best of my ability when asked."

"Mrs. Silva and Mrs. Tipton are always going above and beyond to provide the best education for their students at Ashdown High School as well as working on the state level to help provide that for all Arkansas students," Ashdown Superintendent Casey Nichols said.

"I am so proud of them and the work they did for the CTE playbook. They are fine examples of the amazing staff we have here at Ashdown Public Schools."
