TEXARKANA, Texas - This fall's Movies in the Park series begins Oct. 15 at Spring Lake Park and ends Oct. 29 with the traditional Halloween-season screening of local favorite "The Town That Dreaded Sundown."
The city Parks and Recreation Department will screen a free movie outdoors in the park on three Thursdays in October. The lineup follows, with information from imdb.com.
Oct. 15 - "Trolls World Tour"
PG. 2020. Animated. Voices of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Rachel Bloom. When the Queen of the Hard Rock Trolls tries to take over all the Troll kingdoms, Queen Poppy and her friends try different ways to save all the Trolls.
Oct. 22 - "Sonic the Hedgehog"
PG. 2020. Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Jim Carrey. After discovering a small, blue, fast hedgehog, a small-town police officer must help him defeat an evil genius who wants to do experiments on him.
Oct. 29 - "The Town That Dreaded Sundown"
R. 1976. Ben Johnson, Andrew Prine, Dawn Wells. Loosely based on the true story of the Phantom Killer. In 1946, a Texas Ranger hunts for a hooded serial killer terrorizing the residents of Texarkana.
Each movie will begin as the sun sets, around 7:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Viewers are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on. Concessions will be for sale.
