TEXARKANA, Texas - Bonnie Moreland's former Golden Star Tire has found new ownership.
The property has been purchased by Winston Water Cooler Plumbing Supply Store. Interior renovation is under way and utilities are getting reworked and upgraded, such as electrical and data lines.
The owners, led by Tino Foster, who is managing partner and a former resident of Hooks, Texas, have decided that the property on Texas Boulevard is the place for Winston Water Cooler of Texarkana, Ltd., to set up shop.
"We've been operating out of a leased space on Robison Road for five years and we decided it was time to own our space," said Jim Davidson, partner.
Winston Water Cooler Plumbing Supply is made up of 30 businesses. Davidson makes it clear they are not a chain, more of a partnership, involved in wholesale plumbing and related supply exchanges.
"We are getting the work done and awaiting our certificate of occupation," he said. "We are aiming to be fully moved in and set up by the end of April."
The work to get the former Golden Tire ready for the new enterprise began in mid-February.
Winston Water Cooler Plumbing Supply is based mainly in Texas.
They have outlets, however, in Arizona, Las Vegas and Las Cruces, New Mexico.
"It is exciting for us to set up at this new location and it is important for us to be invested locally," Davidson said.
