TEXARKANA, Texas - A Nash, Texas, man is facing child sex abuse charges and his wife is accused of tampering with a witness in the case.

Eugene Dee McClellon, 53, is facing three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact involving a teen girl who is related to the McClellons and who reported the case last year, according to a probable cause affidavit. The girl reported she was living with the McClellons in Nash last year when she decided to report.

Eugene McClellon is accused of touching and groping the girl and asking to have sex with her before the report was made in December. The alleged victim allegedly made a report in May 2019 regarding sexual abuse by Eugene McClellon which was forwarded to a law enforcement agency in Oklahoma after it was determined the alleged abuse occurred in that state.

The alleged victim claimed that Eugene McClellon's wife, Lorie McClellon "bribed her by buying her an X-Box and video games," a probable cause affidavit filed in Eugene McClellon's case states. The girl told investigators she believes Lorie McClellon wants the charges against Eugene McClellon dropped for financial reasons as Eugene McClellon is her means of support.

After the alleged victim made an outcry of abuse to Bowie County authorities last year, Lorie McClellon allegedly attempted to coerce the victim into recanting her account, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the case against Lorie McClellon.

Lorie McClellon, 54, allegedly told the girl that if she would tell investigators she was "lying" so things could "go back to normal," she would allow the girl to take the X-Box to the residence where she is currently living.

Lorie McClellon has been charged with witness tampering. She faces two to ten years in prison if convicted. She is currently free on a $50,000 bond.

Eugene McClellon is facing three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, each of which is punishable by two to 20 years in prison in the event of a conviction.

Eugene McClellon is currently being held in the Bowie County jail.
