Hempstead County woman arrested for allegedly stabbing ex-husband

HOPE, Ark. - A Hempstead County woman has been arrested on a first-degree battery charge for allegedly stabbing her ex-husband.

Dana Marcum is being held in the Hempstead County jail, according to a news release from the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office. She is also charged with tampering with evidence, according to the news release.

At 7:50 p.m. Saturday, HCSO was dispatched to the Howard Memorial Hospital in Nashville, Arkansas in regard to a stabbing.

When deputies arrived, Allen Marcum told Deputy Kyle Malone that his ex-wife, Dana Marcum. had stabbed him and that she was a residence in the 2100 block of Highway 371 East, the press release states.

Allen Marcum told investigators that Dana Marcum screamed something at him and when he turned around, she pepper sprayed him.

Allen Marcum also said she allegedly hooked him with something inside his mouth and described it as a fish hook. He told deputies she punctured his cheek on the left side of his face with the hook and then started stabbing him on the back of his right leg, according to the press release.

Upon investigation, deputies observed that Allen had two puncture wounds to the left side of his face and one in the middle of his bottom lip, and two stab wounds on the back of his right thigh

Deputy Eric Garner, Arkansas State Trooper Christina Bussey and Malone then went to the suspect's residence and took her into custody.
