TEXARKANA, Texas — A man accused of sexual misconduct with a 9-year-old girl in 2015 is facing a felony charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child in Bowie County.

If convicted, Jose Alejandro Aguilera-Garcia, 39, faces five to 99 years or life in a Texas prison.

Aguilera-Garcia is a former boyfriend of an adult relative of the alleged victim's, according to a probable cause affidavit. The girl was approximately 9 when she woke at a relative's home to find Aguilera-Garcia touching her and touching himself. The girl allegedly reported that she "froze up" when she realized what was happening.
