Two Bowie County COVID-19 deaths since Thursday

TEXARKANA, Texas - From Thursday to Monday, Bowie County, Texas, reported two additional deaths because of COVID-19, bringing the county's death toll to 156, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Bowie County's cumulative confirmed coronavirus case count rose in that time by 53, from 4,176 to 4,229, while its estimated active case count rose by 49, from 355 to 404, according to TDSHS. There have been 5,355 recoveries in the county.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Red River County's total case count increased from 357 to 369, Morris County's from 497 to 505, Cass County's from 1,045 to 1,064 and Titus County's from 2,472 to 2,510, according to TDSHS.

In Southwest Arkansas, Miller County's active case count rose from 67 to 69 Thursday to Monday, according to the Arkansas Department of Health. Confirmed cases in Miller County rose from 2,309 to 2,346, with 2,258 recoveries and 19 deaths.

Lafayette County's case count rose from 311 to 324, Nevada County's from 587 to 595, Pike County's from 680 to 683, Little River County's from 793 to 812, Howard County's from 913 to 927, Hempstead County's from 1,248 to 1,283 and Sevier County's from 1,654 to 1,659, according to ADH.

In Northwest Louisiana from Thursday to Monday, Caddo Parish's case count increased from 22,539 to 22,924 and Bossier Parish's from 11,600 to 11,865, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 236,668 confirmed cases and 4,895 deaths on Monday, Louisiana reported 401,591 cases and 8,912 deaths, and Texas reported 2,087,170 cases and 36,539 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday reported 26,034,475 total cases in the U.S. so far, with a national death toll of 439,955.
