TEXARKANA, Ark. - With snowfall ceasing, the sun returning and roads clearing, Texarkana's modes of transportation resume service. The city's Greyhound station was closed for the entirety of the week, according to Veronica Williams, city manager.

"The last buses left the station on the previous Sunday, heading for Memphis and Dallas," she said. "We reopened noon on Saturday. Normal routes are available and we have resumed our COVID modified operating hours. Just be ready for possible delays, as snow and ice is still clearing out there."

She said conditions are quickly improving and will continue to do so as long as the sun keeps shining. All the regular routes that pull through here are now running.

Texarkana Regional Airport resumed American Airline flights on Friday, said Paul Mehrlich, airport director.

"Other airports may still have issues affecting flight schedules, but we are up and running," he said. "You can fly out of here, no problem, just check the details of your flight."

Artex Taxi was down for the week as well, an unusual set of circumstances for the taxi service.

"We've never had to shut down completely before," said Sherri Madewell, dispatcher. "This is the first time that has happened. Two of our drivers were back on the road Saturday. We expect to be back at full service very soon, driving in town as improving conditions permit."

T-Line, the city bus service, had previously announced it planned on resuming service on Friday. Its website indicated that had remained its plan.

As far as Amtrak goes, Monday's Texas Eagle has been cancelled.
