The Texarkana Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution are organizing a food drive for area veterans.
Hero's Pantry, which serves veterans in the Four States area, is almost empty.
Volunteers will be accepting non-perishable food from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2623 North Robison Road across from Texarkana College.
Most-needed items include beans, canned tuna, pasta sauce, canned soup and beef stew along with hot cereal, dry cereal, mashed potatoes, powdered eggs, pasta and ramen noodles. Canned fruits, canned vegetables and coffee are also needed.
Hero's Pantry feeds about 100 veterans a month, according to the DAR.
