Robbery suspect arrested by TAPD

A 26-year-old man faces multiple charges for his alleged role in an overnight robbery at Speed X convenience store on State Line Avenue, according to police.

 Jonathan Carroll, was arrested on charges of  aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, fleeing, and refusal to submit to arrest, according to a Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department press release. 

About 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a 911 call was received from Speed X convenience store, located at 2404 State Line Ave.

"The caller informed the dispatcher a black male wearing a black mask, black hoodie and blue jeans entered the store and displayed a pistol demanding money from the register. The alleged suspect fired one shot from the pistol in the direction of the clerk before running out the exit doors," the release states.

Officer Landon Loe was working this area when the call was received.

With the information given to him by the dispatcher, he located a suspicious person at the intersection of East 24th and Laurel streets.

  Loe attempted to make contact but the suspect would not comply, the release states.

Once Officer Robert Derrick assisted Loe, they were able to speak with the suspect.

The investigation revealed the suspect was in possession of loaded firearm and a black mask.
