NASH, Texas - The Fiesta House has stood empty of customers for many months since closing, but entrepreneurs from Arkansas have taken charge of the space.

The new place will be called El Parian, and remodeling has begun to make it ready to serve customers again.

"We closed on the property April 12 and we've just begun getting it ready," said Alfonso Moreno, owner of the new restaurant, along with his wife, Carrie.

El Parian will be a Mexican place, like the Fiesta House. But Moreno and his head cook, Alberto Sanchez, have just begun putting the menu together.

"We have plans for our own spins on Mexican flavors," he said.

Moreno said the restaurant will deliver the experience the customers want.

Moreno and Sanchez are both from Arkansas - Malvern and Sheridan, respectively. They came to Texas, specifically, Texarkana, because they heard the market is both welcoming to restaurants as well as a challenge.

Moreno plans to have the space ready in about five months, but he hopes sooner.

(El Parian is coming to 1310 E. New Boston Road.)
