Temple Casino Night and Drawdown sells out early

TEXARKANA - Temple Memorial Pediatric Center is holding its annual Drawdown and Casino Night at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Crossties events center downtown.

The event is already sold out.

Marketing Coordinator Gina Parish said 150 tickets were sold for $100 a pop. The proceeds will go towards Temple's mission of serving the needs of their clients. Temple provides comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation services to people with disabilities here and in the surrounding counties, aiming to enable them to develop their abilities and lead purposeful and independent lives.

"This is an annual event that we have done for many, many years," Parish said. "We have several fundraisers, but this is one that sells out so fast. You don't have to be present to win, and we are going to have silent auction items."

The event will include a dinner prepared by Pops Place, beverages and casino tables.

Temple will also be introducing the annual Kid of the Year award to a child who they think has gone above and beyond with his or her therapy.

"We're looking forward to getting all the people together," Parish said. "A lot of the people we have come year after year, and they're our same donors and sponsors. It's nice to see them, and of course it's nice to introduce the Kid of the Year at the same time to the community."
