TEXARKANA Ark. - A Texarkana, Texas, suspect is being held in Miller County jail pending a Texas-side extradition on two felony aggravated assault charges as well as a DWI charge Thursday afternoon.
Tremayne Ware, 38, was booked into the Miller County jail about 4:30 p.m., after being arrested by Texarkana, Arkansas, police, on all three charges, a jail spokesman said.
Arkansas-side Police Public Information Officer Cpl. Kelly Pillgreen confirmed that Ware had been arrested shortly around 4 p.m., but did have an exact location of where the arrest took place.
Both aggravated assaults incidents took place around 1:15 p.m, at the Creekside Apartments at 3333 Nichols Drive, said Texarkana Texas Police Department Public Information Officer Shawn Vaughn.
Vaughn said the suspect apparently shot two female victims, possibly stemming from a domestic violence incident. One of them is said to be in serious condition.
As of 5:30 p.m. Thursday, neither of the victims' names had been released, but one had apparently been shot outside of the one of the apartment units, Vaughn said.
Following about a two-hour investigation at the apartment complex area, most police patrol and criminal investigation personnel gathered at an older residential area on Parish Street, branching a short distance off Summerhill Road more than a mile from the crime scene. There, police spotted what was reported to be Ware's vehicle - a white Tahoe parked near one of the homes.
Police stayed on the scene for nearly a hour until they received word that Ware had been arrested by Arkansas-side police.
