TEXARKANA, Texas - A Paris, Texas, man has been charged with online solicitation of a minor involving a 15-year-old Bowie County girl he was allegedly attempting to meet for sex.

Tommie Alexander "Alex" Daniels, 26, came to the attention of the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division in late May, according to a probable cause affidavit. Daniels allegedly began communicating with the girl via Facebook messenger Sept. 24 with the communications ending in February.

Daniels allegedly shared a photo of himself working for the Red River County jail that investigators found on the girl's phone. Red River County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Michael Pace said Daniels was employed previously at the jail but has not worked there for a few years.

DPS Special Agent Eric Estes observed numerous messages from Daniels asking the girl for "a sexy full body picture."

The girl allegedly told Daniels she was only 15.

"Daniels replies advising Daniels is 26 years old," the affidavit states.

Daniels allegedly asked the girl sexually graphic questions and allegedly set up a date and time to meet the girl.

Bowie County jail records show Daniels was booked on Monday and released Thursday on a $30,000 bond.

If convicted of online solicitation of a minor, Daniels faces two to 20 years in prison.
