GENOA, Ark.- Rabbits weren't the only animals who got to celebrate a pre-Easter get-together Saturday morning at the Three Chicks Feed, Seed and Cafe out on Genoa Road.

The cafe and store owners' semi-traditional Chicks Feed Easter Celebr'egg'sion attracted hundreds of children, along with their parents, who eagerly scampered to the store's barnyard area. There, they joyously hugged and petted not only the business' baby rabbits, but also its baby chicks, baby sheep, baby goats and baby calves- along with taking pony rides.

"We've done about three or four Easter celebrations before in the 10 years we've been here, but we wanted to make this one extra special because people have had to spend most of last year and at least some of this year closed up inside their homes," said Three Chicks co-owner Angie Watson. "People have had to just stay at home so long (owing to COVID-19) that we here at Three Chicks needed to have something for them to really enjoy."

Watson added that while the feed store could stay open, the cafe had to close for most of last year.

"During the years we've held an Easter celebration, we've been able to have hundreds of kids come out with their parents to enjoy a breakfast as well as be with the livestock," she said.

Ashley Fleming, one of the business' associates, said allowing children to pet baby goats, and baby sheep, became a new addition to the celebration, along with including an inflatable castle house slide.

"We've even had people come here from as far away as Shreveport and Dallas," she said.
