Three more COVID deaths in Bowie County

TEXARKANA, Texas - Bowie County, Texas, reported three additional deaths because of COVID-19 from Monday to Thursday, bringing the county's death toll to 201, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Active COVID-19 cases in Bowie County rose by nine in that time, from 430 to 439, while cumulative confirmed cases rose from 4,643 to 4,651. There have been an estimated 6,144 recoveries in the county.

Elsewhere in Northeast Texas, Red River County's total case count held at 401 Monday to Thursday, according to TDSHS. Morris County's increased from 569 to 570, Cass County's from 1,141 to 1,152 and Titus County's from 2,681 to 2,687.

Active cases in Miller County, Arkansas, fell from 30 to 24, while total confirmed cases increased from 2,624 to 2,629, according to the Arkansas Department of Health. There have been 21 deaths because of COVID-19 in the county and 2,584 recoveries.

From Monday to Thursday in Southwest Arkansas, Lafayette County's total case count held at 375, according to ADH. Nevada County's increased from 653 to 655, Pike County's from 760 to 764, Little River County's from 880 to 886, Howard County's from 1,028 to 1,037, Hempstead County's from 1,450 to 1,452 and Sevier County's from 1,774 to 1,776.

In Northwest Louisiana from Monday to Thursday, Caddo Parish's case count increased from 25,017 to 25,056 and Bossier Parish's from 13,192 to 13,210, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Statewide, Arkansas reported 258,775 confirmed cases and 5,571 deaths on Thursday, Louisiana reported 442,620 cases and 10,073 deaths, and Texas reported 2,377,275 cases and 46,868 deaths.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday reported 29,834,734 cases so far in the U.S., with a national death toll of 542,584.
