UAHT commencement to be held May 11

HOPE/TEXARKANA, Ark. - The 2021 University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana commencement ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 11 in Hempstead Hall on the Hope Campus.

This will be the first in-person commencement ceremony UAH-T has held since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There are 358 students expected to graduate. Only 166 of the graduates are walking in the ceremony.

To comply with COVID guidelines and provide a safe experience for everyone involved, UAH-T will be providing each graduate with two tickets to the ceremony this year. Graduates will receive their tickets when they pick up their cap and gown. Children ages 3 and under are not required to have a ticket.

Communications Coordinator Casey Curtis said UAH-T will follow the guidelines of 6 feet distance and wearing masks.

"Normally we do not issue tickets, but to ensure physical distancing this year we issued two tickets per graduate," he said.

Handicap parking is available in the two parking lots nearest Hempstead Hall. There is also a drop-off point under the awning at the front doors of the building.

(The ceremony will be streamed live on the UAH-T YouTube channel and Facebook page. For more information, call 870-777-5722)
