TEXARKANA, Texas - After more than six months of preparation, the local Habitat For Humanity office will hold an official grand opening of its resale store at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

As of Thursday afternoon, nearly every bit of the building's 11,145-square-foot interior, located at 3632 New Boston Road, held several thousand pieces of home furnishings. Items include tables, chairs, sofas, cabinets, carpet, counter tops, doors, vanity tops, light fixtures, fans and flooring.

The building, known officially as the HFH of Texarkana Restore, also contains roofing supplies, tile and paint supplies.

Late last year, Habitat managed to secure a grant that allowed the organization to hire a Hot Springs, Arkansas-based consulting firm to help find the storage building.

Collected sales proceeds will be used to finance future local Habitat home building projects.
