TEXARKANA, Texas - Another vacated church property finds itself home to a new congregation.

Christ Community Church, formerly on North State Line Avenue, has taken up the building formerly occupied by Landmark Pentecostal Church, which recently completed its move to its new home on Mall Drive, the building long occupied by Church on the Rock.

Earlier this year, Church on the Rock moved into the refurbished retail space that was once Gander Mountain at University Avenue and Interstate 30.

According to their web site, the Christ Community Church was established officially in 2009, but began meeting long before that, to "establish a core group and solidify a vision. Our central motivation as a church is an unwavering commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

Their pastor is Jared Gibson who grew up in Wake Village.

He began serving at First Baptist Church, Wake Village, as a student minister. Later, he would obtain his Masters of Divinity, marry, and at seminary, the couple would experience the call to church planting. Out of that, Christ Community Church came to be.

(Christ Community Church is located at 2905 Texas Blvd. Find them on Facebook or at christcommunitytxk.com online.)
