Commissioners plan to approve sale of tax delinquent property

NEW BOSTON, Texas - Bowie County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m., today to approve having the Sheriff's Office sell 16 pieces of tax delinquent property for the county's Central Appraisal District, collectively worth about $22,000.

The Commissioners, who will meet inside their courtroom on the courthouse's second floor, plan to put this unsold property back on the public market on behalf the appraisal district, which presently serves as the properties' trustee.

Of the 16 pieces of land, nine are in Texarkana,Texas, three in Hooks, one in Nash, one in Wake Village and two out in the county.

Besides putting the land back up for resale, Court members also plan to re-appoint both county residents Ardis Richardson and Dwight Wilborn to each serve another two-year term on the Bowie County Housing Authority Board of Directors. The new terms for both directors will start Nov. 1.

In other business, commissioners will also consider appointing Andre Williams McCoy and Cory J. Floyd to serve on the North-East Texas Regional Mobility Authority Board of Directors.

Additionally, the Commissioners plans to re-appoint George Huggins and Cassie Raulston to the Bowie County Child Welfare Board.
