TEXARKANA, Ark. — The 53rd annual Twice as Nice Women's Invitational golf tournament starts Tuesday.

It will be a three-day event with a practice round and a welcome party on Tuesday, the first day of the tournament starting on Wednesday and a scramble round on Thursday. The tournament will be held at the Texarkana Country Club.

Carol Hoffman, director for the event, said they have been maxed out with 116 players (two players per team) registered for months now.

The tournament funds itself every year, as it is not a charitable event. Whatever money is made each year goes into next year's tournament.

Hoffman and the committee are looking forward to the welcome event at the beginning of the tournament. It was cancelled last year due to COVID-19.

"We have ladies coming from Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Florida and Arizona," Hoffman said. "It has just grown so much. Gosh, if we had 30 teams in the past we did good. But this year, we were filled up within three weeks."

There will be meals provided, prizes awarded and a gift for everyone at registration.
