The Muses are a Hot Springs, Arkansas-based performance troupe that sang Baroque and early 20th century jazz numbers and show tunes.

They have made regular visits to perform at the RAC.

Their program was titled "Broken Standards: Fascinating Rhythm" with singers joined by dancers and a small group of accompanying musicians.

While Baroque composers like G.F. Handel, Antonio Vivaldi and Arcangelo Corelli were included, numbers by more recent composers like Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Kurt Weill were also sung - tunes such as "The Ballad of Mack the Knife" and "You'd Be So Easy to Love."

Included in the roster of performers were several from the Muses Young Artist Program, which works with high school and college students to give them educational and performance opportunities with professionals in the arts.
