Edward Garrett BENDER

October 10, 1927 December 4, 2019 Edward Garrett (Eddie) Bender, 92, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in Dublin. Eddie was born on October 10, 1927 in Commerce, Texas to the late Charles Kenneth Bender and Bertae Lee Garrett Bender. He married Helen J. Scoggin and together raised 2 children. Edward was a Master Mason with the Pentagon No. 1080 lodge in Dallas. He was also a longtime member of Shriners International. Eddie worked for many years as the Regional Director of Glidden and ICI Paints before his retirement. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and a former resident of Carrolton before moving to Dublin. Survivors include his wife, Helen Bender of Dublin; children, Suzanne Heddins and husband Glenn of Dublin, and Ken Bender of Combine; grandchildren, Jason Heddins and wife Jennifer of Fort Worth, and Lindsay Tyus and husband Paul of Dublin; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Geraldine Lee, and Gail Gibson. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, Florida 33607.
