Rachel Dianne Johnston Magee

Rachel Dianne Johnston Magee, was born March 1, 1971 in Houston, Texas. She went to be with God on December 7, 2019. Rachel was a member of Marvin UMC in Tyler. She graduated from TWU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked in the Neonatal ICU for most of her nursing career. Taking expert care of these tiny babies gave her great joy, as did ministering to other patients in her care. She also worked as a substitute school nurse and teacher. She delighted in organizing celebrations of all kinds, whether for her family, her work, or her neighborhood. She loved animals, children, older folks, and was kind to everyone she met. She was loved by many and will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her father, William McMillan Johnston and her grandparents, Lorreine and Billy Johnston and Mary Jim and Harry Aycock. She leaves behind a son, Clayton McMillan Magee, and a daughter Maggie Elizabeth Magee of Tyler; her mother, Dianne Bryan of Atlanta; her sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Jason Hall of Tyler; two nephews, Will and Ben Hall and a niece, Allie Hall; sister and brother-in-law, Bobbi and John Johnston of Nederland; nieces, Chloe and Lillie and nephew, Thomas; also a niece, Meagan Pitts of Pearl, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, Atlanta, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Rev. Jacob Smith officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 1 pm to 3 pm at First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
