CARLTON DAWSON SR.

Carlton Isaiah Dawson, Sr., 57, of Wake Village, TX died Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Texarkana, TX. Mr. Dawson was born August 30, 1962, in Picayuna, MS. He was a tire builder with Cooper Tire. Carlton graduated from Poplarville High School in 1980. He loved working on old cars, building cabinets and gardening. He worked at Cooper Tire for 24 years and served in the US Army & Reserve for 17 years as an E4 Sgt. He was preceded in death by one son, Carlton Dawson, Jr., and father, Joe Dawson. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Dawson of Wake Village, TX; one son, Tarloas Dawson of Norfolk, VA; his mother, Billie Dawson of Poplarville, MS; two brothers, Alton Brown of New Orleans, LA and Ronald Brown of Slidell, LA; one sister, Mary Batts of Nash, TX; and his mother-in-law, Pearlene Jennings of Texarkana, TX. Visitation is Friday, December 27, 2019, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Jones Stuart Mortuary. Funeral will be Saturday, December 28, 2019, at 10:00 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church, 158 Payton Rd., Texarkana, TX, with Pastor O. J. Newburn, Sr., Officiating and Rev. David Boone, Eulogist. Interment will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary.
