Betty Jean Upton, 78, of Fouke, AR, died Sunday, November 3, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 9, 1941, in Anguilla, MS, to Ruston and Mollie Bell Ellison Gordon. She was the retired owner of Allen's Burger Center and T.K.'s Family Restaurant, and was a former City Councilwoman for the City of Fouke. She will be remembered by her family as a very giving person who helped those in need and did so behind the scenes without recognition. She loved tending to her roses and working crossword puzzles, as well as watching "Law and Order" or some other crime shows. Her passion was baking and enjoyed feeding a crowd. Known by her grandchildren as "GiGi" or "MamMaw", she loved spending time with her family. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Upton. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Mellissa Upton; one daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Junior Wesley; a brother, Stanley Vance; a sister, Valerie Vance; a sister-in-law, Judy Wilson and husband, John; her beloved grandchildren, Hunter Lyon, Braylen Wesley, Kaeden Wesley, Ashlyn Reed, Taylor Upton, Kaylee Upton, Kyle Upton, Brody Upton, and Paul Dornbos; a special grandson, Austin Walls; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas Chapel, with Frank McFerrin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
