Betty Jean Watson Jackson Richardson was born March 24, 1942 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Exie Tyson and Joe Watson. Betty attended Washington High School in Texarkana, AR. Upon receiving her G.E.D in 1992 from Adult Education Center, Texarkana, AR, she also received her certification in food service and certification for Home Health Care. Afterwards in which she retired from the Arkansas School District. Betty accepted Christ at an early age at the New Hope Baptist Church in Texarkana and was faithful until she moved to Texarkana, AR. She then united with the College Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor W.M. Davis. There Betty Jean remained a faithful member and held several positions which included being active member of the usher board and the sponsor of the F Sharp Choir. She also was a former worker with the youth ministry and a Sunday school teacher of class # 2 for many years. Betty Jackson worked diligently until the end on the hospitality committee. Betty Jean Jackson Richardson departed this life, Thursday, October 31, 2019 at a Texarkana, Texas health care facility. Her husband J.D. Richardson preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memories are Son: Arthur Lee Munzy, Jr. (Dewane), Dallas, TX; Daughters: Frances Laverne Watson Whie, Texarkana, TX; Lisa Gail Jackson, Austin, TX; Sister: Earnestine Watson Berry, Kansas City, Missouri; Five Granddaughters: Kenitra Hayes of Texarkana, Latoria Fort, LaNisha Fort, Ta'Niya Stephens, LaSheka Fort all of Austin, TX; Two Grandsons: Tommy White, Jr., and Damion White both of Texarkana, TX; Eleven great grandchildren, three great great grands, one God sister, Laderia Hurd Thompson; host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 9, 2019, "A Celebration of Life Service" will be held at College Hill Missionary Baptist Church , Texarkana, AR with the Rev. Tony Harris officiating. 3:00-6:00 P.M. Friday, Viewing will be at Lyles Funeral Home 3809 E. Broad St., Texarkana, AR Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Texarkana, AR under directions of Lyles Funeral Home, Inc.
