On Monday, September 30, 2019, Christina "Shelli" Calicott, age 42, of Redwater, Texas, had her best day ever when her Lord and Savior decided that she had finished her race and He graciously, sweetly, even quickly took her home to be with Him. Shelli is described as wonderful, vibrant, life-filled, gracious, an inspiration, and a faithful servant to name a few. After a courageous journey with cancer, she truly fought a good fight and finished well. Shelli was born October 31, 1976, in Grapeland, Texas. She was a committed member of First Baptist Church Redwater where she coordinated the children's after school program and directed music camps for over ten years. She was a substitute teacher for Redwater ISD. Her most important role was that of homemaker for her family. Shelli was preceded in death by a grandmother, Betty Jean Sims and her father-in-law, Glenn Davis. She is survived by her husband, Corey Calicott of Redwater; their four children, Emilee, Bethanee, Alex and Kaylee Calicott; her parents, Doug and Jackie Knight of Redwater; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Matt and Lynn Knight of Texarkana and John and Amy Knight of Tacoma, Washington; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Angie and Donald Huskey of Texarkana, Texas, Meridith and Adam Hill of Texarkana, Texas and Whitney and Tyler Hill of Hot Springs, Arkansas; her grandfather, Jack Sims of Texarkana; mother-in-law, Becky Davis of Texarkana, Texas; grandmother-in-law, Wanda Davis of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and a number of other relatives and friends. Private burial is under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be at 11 AM Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Heritage Church with Rev. Todd Reed officiating.
