GERALDINE MEEKS

Geraldine "Jeri" Meeks, 81, of Ashdown, Arkansas died Thursday, July 30, in Plano, Texas. She was born January 25, 1939 in Star City, Arkansas to Elbert Dorsey & Viola Williams Dorsey. An avid Bridge player, she always had her suitcase packed and ready for a travel adventure with her children and grandchildren especially to her favorite place on earth, Branson, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Floyd Keith "Barney" Cannon. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas "Tom" Meeks, her children, Kaye Cannon of Jefferson, Texas; Eddie Meeks (Koti) of McKinney, Texas; Mike Meeks (Tim) of Castle Rock, Colorado and Karen Porter (Mike) of Ashdown; a granddaughter, Kim Cannon of Shreveport, Louisiana; grandsons, Kyle Cannon of Irving, Texas; Brandon Lewis, Brayden and Tyler Porter of Ashdown, Braden and Kade Faircloth of Castle Rock, Colorado; a sister, Bettye Jean McBryde of Somerset, Kentucky; a brother, James Dorsey of Perryville, Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Pallbearers are Kyle Cannon, Brandon Lewis, Brayden Porter, Braden Faircloth, Kade Faircloth, Mark Washburn, Mark Washburn, Jr. and Kelly Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Porter, Tyler Porter, Tim Faircloth, and Jack Madden, Jr. Visitation will be held at Madden Funeral Home on Sunday, August 2nd 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Services will be Monday, August 3rd at Ashdown Central Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Ashdown Memorial Gardens. Bro. Don Embry will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ashdown Central Baptist Church Children's Ministry.
