November 9, 1942 July 31, 2020 Walter Morris Johnson Jr, born November 9, 1942 in Atlanta TX, passed from this life on July 31, 2020 at Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport LA. He was 77 years old. Walter Morris Johnson Jr is preceded in death by parents Walter Morris Johnson Sr and Mabel Vanessa (Greene) Johnson; brothers David Johnson and John Henry Johnson; and sister Vanessa Johnson. He is survived by his wife Andrea Kay Jackson of Queen City TX; sons Thomas Johnson (Vivian) and grandchildren Madeleine and Marvin of Germany, Morris Johnson (Sandra) and grandchild Elaine of Germany, and Devin Johnson of Dallas TX; and sisters Jean Roquemore of Kildare TX, Lois Wade of Nacogdoches TX, and Joyce Polk of Dallas TX. Walter graduated high school from Booker T. Washington in Atlanta TX in 1959. Afterwards, he attended Wiley College and Texarkana College to study communications. He later left school to enlist in the U.S. Army where he honorably served our country from 1967-1971 in Fort Hood, Fort Sam Houston, and Vietnam. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Queen City TX. Walter had a deep love for the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers, and other sports. He loved to fish, hunt, and spend time in the great outdoors. Some of his many talents included barbering, drawing, and excellent penmanship. Walter Morris Johnson Jr will lie in repose at Queen City Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. A graveside service in his honor will be held at Queen City Cemetery on Saturday, August 8, 2020 beginning at 10:00 A.M.
