Monteshia Carvette Brown, 49 departed this life peacefully on January 1, 2020 at home after a long, courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Monteshia was born on October 22, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois to Calvin, SR. and Ruby Brown. She was raised in Texarkana and Monteshia graduated from Arkansas High School in 1989. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Home Health Provider. Monteshia had a heart for helping people, especially the elderly. Monteshia also loved children and although she didn't have any children of her own, she was surrounded by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Monteshia had an infectious smile and she enjoyed having a good time with family and friends. Monteshia was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Brown. Monteshia is survived by her father, Calvin (Reana) Brown, SR of Texarkana, TX; a sister, Lasonia Lamay, of Texarkana, TX; four brothers, Calvin Brown, JR, Dallas, TX, Kelvin Brown of Fort Worth, TX, Chris Sims, of Texarkana, AR, and James Martin, of Houston, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends. A special thanks for the care and kindness received from Hospice of Texarkana. Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2020 from 3:00-5:00 PM at Jones Stuart Mortuary. Funeral will be Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Word of Life Ministries, 1815 Rose Street, Texarkana, AR with Rev. Roosevelt Thompson, Officiating and Pastor William Edwards, Eulogist. Interment is in Rondo Memorial Cemetery. Under the direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary.
