David Dakota Shoptaw, 27, of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Texarkana, died Thursday, January 9, 2020, in Little Rock after a life-time battle with cystic fibrosis. He was born Sept 6, 1992, in Texarkana, TX, and was employed with Tuff Sheds in Little Rock. Dakota enjoyed watching Disney movies, and was very family oriented. His family recalls his hearty appetite, and how he enjoyed cooking, especially gumbo and crawfish. He always loved going to the gym and working out. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold David Dial. He will be missed by his mother, Shannon Brooks; his father, Brett Shoptaw; two sisters, Brianna Deal and Caylee Zamora; one brother, Christopher Shoptaw; grandparents, Ralph Shoptaw, Beth Dial, and Lindy and Ernie Keck; a special son whom he loved as his own, Domonique Martin; and a number of aunts and uncles including Holly and Scott Giles, Tammy and Chris Jennings, and Kelly and Shannon Dial. The family will receive friends from 4-5:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas, followed by a celebration of his life at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel.
