Garland Erwin Kimmel, 75, of Texarkana, AR. passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020. He was born in Denton, TX. on November 5, 1944. He grew up in Lewisville, TX where he graduated from Lewisville High School in 1963. He is a North Texas State Graduate. Served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968. Served in Korea with the 7th Infantry Division and served a tour in Vietnam with the First Aviation Brigade as a helicopter tech inspector. He taught industrial arts for 30 years at Lewisville High School and Liberty Eylau Middle School. Survived by his wife of 53 years Joanna Rispoli Kimmel; two sons and daughter-in-law Matthew Wade and Kandice Kimmel of Texarkana and Chad Anthony Kimmel of Dallas, TX; one brother and sister-in-law Bobby Charles and Francis Kimmel of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren Cooper, Olivia, and Finn Kimmel of Texarkana; Shayna, Brynna and Kiana Vance of North Texas; two nieces Julie Kimmel-Harbaugh and Jana Hays both of Tulsa, OK. Private family graveside will be Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Old Rondo Cemetery with Rev. Chad Hughes officiating.
