Lynn Daffern passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his home in Maud, Texas. He was 72. Lynn was born September 3, 1947, in DeKalb, Texas, to Charlie and Jewell Spinks Daffern. He was a retired Carpenter from Red River Army Depot and was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church in Maud, Texas. Lynn was a Veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Debra Philyaw Daffern; and a great granddaughter, Chandler Michelle Daffern. He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Benny Daffern of Maud, Texas, Billy Daffern of Avery, Texas and Troy and Laurie Daffern of Texarkana, Arkansas; a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Jeanie Daffern of Sherman, Texas; two sisters, Carolyn G. Chandler of Van Buren, Arkansas and Gayle Knutson of Texarkana, Texas; his mother-in-law, Naomi Shumake of Texarkana, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; 10 grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Private family graveside services will be under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in DeKalb, Texas. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
