Alvin Leslie (Bubba) Hill, 63 years old originally from Queen City, Texas, left this earthly life to enter the gates of Heaven on Sunday, September 6, 2020 in a Lufkin hospital after a brief battle with Covid 19. He had been a resident of Texas State Supported Living Center in Lufkin since 1967. The family takes comfort in knowing that Bubba is now not limited by any physical disabilities. Bubba was born in Atlanta, Texas on March 20, 1957. He was a loving child, and as he grew older loved to listen to a variety of music. Bubba is preceded in death by grandparents Bertha and Les Smith and Verna and Alvin Hill. He is survived by his parents Haskell and Joy Hill, his brother Haskell Leon Hill and wife Jo Ann, his sisters Mary White and husband Bryan, Martha Godwin and husband Dale, and Margaret Watson and husband Don. He is also survived by nephews: Charles Byrum and wife Julie, Christopher White and wife Kimberly, Joseph Hill and wife Ashley, Stephen Watson and wife Heather and nieces: Catherine Plyler and husband Daniel, Jennifer White, Emily Freeman and husband Chad, Amanda Wise and husband Cullen, and Sarah Mott and husband Joseph. Bubba is also survived by a caring staff at Lufkin State Supported Living Center. The family wishes to acknowledge their appreciation to the staff for the wonderful care Bubba has received for the past 53 years. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2020, at First United Methodist Church, Queen City with Brother Chuck Huffman officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 -2:00 p.m. immediately prior to the service.
