Ms. Dorothy "Dee" (Crabb) Helton passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 in Mt. Pleasant. Ms. Helton was born April 29, 1925 in Gay, Oklahoma. She is the last sibling, preceded in death by her three brothers and six sisters, born to the late Henry Thomas and Nellie Jane Crabb. Ms. Helton married Kenneth Laroy Harrison in Soper, Oklahoma and had three daughters. Preceded in death, Barbara Jane Magill of Dallas, Texas. Surviving daughters are Linda Lou and husband Bill Land of Garland, Texas, and Cheryl Ann and Steve Seaman of Pittsburg, Texas. Ms. Helton later married the late Harold Lee Helton. She resided at Queen City Manor retirement home in Queen City for several years. As her health declined, Ms. Helton transitioned to Southern Wind Manor in Pittsburg, Texas. She was a country gal who took pride in growing up on the family farm and telling stories to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren what it was like growing up in the depression. Ms. Dorothy worked as a claims examiner for Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance Company. She took pride in her labor and instilled the meaning of honor in a "hard day's work". She was a member of the Church of Christ in Atlanta, Texas for many years. As retirement age approached Ms. Dorothy spent the rest of her years caring for children. Most importantly, Ms. Dorothy will be remembered as "Nana"; a woman who loved and adored her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ms. Dorothy leaves behind seven grandchildren, Deborah and Bill Mills, Mark and Nancy Magill, David and Terry Magill, Rhonda Machelle Griffin, Steven and Jennifer Turquette, Bryan and Angelia Turquette, and Timothy and Darla Turquette, and seventeen great grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, September 11, 2020 at Hanner Funeral Service. Services will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Hanner Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Jon McCormack. Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
