John Wayne Riley, Jr, 53 of Old Boston, TX died on September 19, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Riley was born March 13, 1967, in Texarkana, TX. He attended New Boston High School (Class of 1985). He received an honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving over 20 years. He attended Columbia University in Fort Worth, TX. He was employed by Wedgewood Middle School in Fort Worth, TX, as an ROTC Instructor and a Basketball Coach. After working for the school district, he started his own business, JAC's B (John & Carolyn's Boy) Moving Company and Twin City Daiquiri in Texarkana, TX, until his health failed. Mr. Riley was an active member of St. Joseph Baptist Church in Old Boston, TX. He is survived by his parents Carolyn and John W. Riley, Sr; daughter Whitney Riley; sister Jacqueline Riley; brothers Tyrone Riley, Anthony Riley, Sr, and Torrey (Candance) Riley. Aunts: Pearlie Smith, Lue Ann Hurd, Betty Scales, Ruby Holloway-Riley, Linda (Dennis) Lee, Marilyn Blackwell. Uncles: Billy (Sandra) Riley, James Benton, William Blackwell, Sr, Larry Blackwell, Louis (Emma) Blackwell, Curtis (Brenda) Blackwell, and Calvin (Sighle) Blackwell. Nephews: Anthony (Angelica) Riley, Jr, Jashun (Kayla) Riley, and Terrance Riley. Nieces: Monique Vincent, Jaleesa Riley, and Jasmine Riley. Great-nephews: Kendall Riley and Jahuan Riley. Great-nieces: Jayleigh Riley, Khloe Riley, and Rayell Riley. God Children: Alexis Coleman and Zachery Shepard. Special Brother: DeWon Bead. Special Son: Linwood Tatum. Special Friends: Terrance & Kathy Payton, Jerry Bearden, Larry Menendez, Jr, and Ronnie Scuddle. Special Friend and Care Taker: Heather Hurd. A host of cousins that he loved very much Viewing services will be held Friday, September 25, 2020, at Haynes Mortuary 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Hooks, TX, 1:00 pm under the direction of Haynes Mortuary. No viewing.
