ROSIE GARRETSON

Rosie Mae Garretson went to be with her Heavenly Father on the 23rd day of September 2020 at her home. Rosie was born on March 8, 1956 to the late Robert Davis of Daingerfield, TX, and Ruby Sanches of Rocky Branch, TX. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Davis and Roger Davis of Daingerfield, TX; and sister, Katherine Mary Davis of Omaha, TX. Rosie was raised in Daingerfield, TX, where she attended Paul Pewitt and later received her GED at New Boston High School. Rosie married Ben Garretson of Cookville, TX, on January 25, 1972 and for over 48 years lovingly and faithfully walked her life's journey by his side. To this union three children were born. Two daughters and son-in-law's, Rosemary Phillips of Atlanta, TX, Greg Phillips of Texarkana, TX, Kathy and Jacob Garcia of Corpus Christi, TX, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Sara Garretson of New Boston, TX, grandchildren; Kaela Phillips, Dylan Phillips and Lauryn Phillips of Atlanta, TX, Jacob Logan Garcia of Corpus Christi, Stoker Garretson and Josey Kate Garretson of New Boston, TX. Deeply devoted to her family, Rosie was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. Aside from her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, Rosie is survived by 3 sisters: Sudie Davis of Lufkin, TX, Betty Huffman of Kennard, TX and Lisa Castro of Winnsboro, TX. Rosie worked as a custodian, cashier, nurse's aide and home health provider. She had a special knack for bringing sunshine and joy into the lives of her home bound and ill clients. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Gospel Tabernacle- 407 W. Walter Blvd- New Boston, TX with Bro. Matthew Neese officiating. Family will receive friend's one-hour prior service beginning at 1:00 pm. Internment will follow at Coopers Chapel Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, TX.
