Joyce Marie Silvey Pinkerton, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 25, 2020. She took her last breath peacefully at home in the company of her loving family and friends. Joyce was born in Hope AR on October 23, 1932 to D.O. and Merle Silvey. She was the youngest daughter with Jean Silvey Franks and Jackie Silvey de Cordova, both of Texarkana AR and a younger brother, Dr. Larry Silvey of Hope AR. Joyce graduated from Arkansas High School as Valedictorian and Homecoming royalty, and enjoyed a career in banking at then State First National Bank and Oaklawn Bank. She was married to John Pinkerton for 55 years. They were blessed with two sons, David Pinkerton (wife, Julie) of Franklin TN and Randy Pinkerton (wife, Lori) of Santa Rosa CA, as well as her granddaughter, Laurin Pinkerton Wilkinson (husband, Ben) of Santa Rosa CA and her precious great-granddaughters, Brinkley, Elley and Natalie Wilkinson. She also had many nieces and nephews that she treasured, especially her niece, Diann Rankin of Wake Village TX, who along with Jackie and David stepped up to provide for her daily needs. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, and her eldest sister, Jean. Joyce loved her family and her faith. For many years, she and her husband owned Pinkerton Pharmacy on State Line Avenue and took great pride in the service and commitment to their community's health and well-being. The Pinkertons were long time members of Central Baptist Church in Texarkana. Joyce was a devoted Christian; she easily shared her deep faith and led people to Christ by the way she lived. She had an energy and charisma that carried her throughout her life and endeared her to many cherished friends. We wish to acknowledge two individuals who have become honorary family because of their loving devotion to her care and medical needs. Ruby Hanson of Texarkana AR leads this list with over a decade of dedicated service to both John and Joyce. Dr. AmyLeigh Overton-McCoy's expertise and deep compassion as her primary care provider will be forever remembered. In addition, we would like to acknowledge Deanna, Debbie and Tasha of Elara Home Health and Dierksen Hospice for their committed care in bringing grace and dignity in these final years. Services will be held on Monday, September 28 at 2:00 pm at the Texarkana Funeral Home - Arkansas Chapel, 4801 Parkway Drive with Rev. David Watkins officiating. Private family burial will be at Memorial Gardens. Services will be livestreamed at Texarkana Funeral Home Facebook Page. Memorials to be made to One Generation Away, 104 SE Parkway Suite 300, Franklin, TN 37064 or to Onegenaway.com.
