James Vernon Feagin, of De Kalb, Texas passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at a local care facility. He was 75. James was born August 21, 1945 in Malta, Texas to Edward Edgar and Mary Easter Ruckman Feagin. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Inspector for Red River Army Depot. He also spent several years maintaining and driving a bus for Hubbard ISD. James was a member of Wards Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Simms, Texas. He enjoyed hunting and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lynndell McLaughlin. He is survived by his wife, Gail Smith Feagin of De Kalb, Texas; one son, James Feagin, Jr. of De Kalb, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Nona Moles of De Kalb, Texas and Rebecca and Wayne Watterson of De Kalb, Texas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Danny and Claudette Feagin of De Kalb, Texas and Jay Feagin of Westlake, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Tayler Grider and her husband, Rodger, Dylan Moles, Jordan Moles, Joseph Watterson, Nicolas Feagin, and James Watterson; three great grandchildren, Emma Feagin, Brooklyn Grider, and Clayton Dugger; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Hubbard Chapel Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas with Bro. John Rogers officiating. Mr. Feagin will lie in state Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas. Online registration at www.batesfamilyfuneralhome.com.
